There has been a lot of talk about criminalizing undocumented immigrants and churches and groups that provide medical assistance and help to them. Has Washington gone too far?

“It’s hypocritical of our country to go spend billions of dollars in other countries to fight for their rights when they neglect the rights of those in our communities. They are robbing the rights and needs of working people that are already here, building America.”

“The U.S. government needs to use flexibility in addressing the issue and not throw down a blind curtain.”

“What the U.S. government is doing is half right. Let’s hope it doesn’t
penalize those workers and immigrants that are doing everything legally,
and are here legally. The government needs to keep it right and keep it safe for those already here.”

“The U.S. government runs day labor camps for workers, where
the hiring employer doesn’t have to pay taxes. If we tried to do that,
we’d go to jail. Where’s the justice in that? And immigration
reform needs to be done that is equitable across the board.”

“There needs to be an assessment of non-union and non- complying
contractors. We need to be able to identify them and make them liable
for the burden they place on complying contractors. And immigration reform has to address that issue.”
