The Building Trades News, with a paid monthly circulation of 20,000, is the official publication of the LA/Orange Counties Building Trades Council. The Council has a total membership of more than 120,000 members representing 48 unique craft affiliates.

Union Locals and organizations within the Council control assets worth more than $200,000,000, with annual receipts of more than $150,000,000 and annual disbursements totaling more than $130,000,000.

With average wage and benefit packages totaling more than $40/hour, our members enjoy average salaries of $55,000 a year. Many earn in excess of $72,000 per year. They spend millions of dollars each year on construction-related purchases—from hard hats to tools.

Union officers control multi million-dollar pension funds. And on the job, our first line supervisors manage the purchase of hundreds of millions of dollars worth construction materials and services.
