“It will be great for our members, not only for the pipe fitters, but all the Building and Construction Trades. As long as there is a PLA signed and a prevailing wage is paid they are abiding by the union contracts, it will be a wonderful thing.”

“I’ll believe it when I see it. He could just be talking. I just don’t

“Schwarzenegger spending $222 billion in the next ten years
raises the question, “How are we going to pay for it?” Putting our
members to work on more projects with a prevailing wage will be good
for the economy of the state.”

“If this money - $222 billion - is directed at the Building Trades, it will get
jobs for our members. However, with Arnold, beware of Trojan Horses.”

“Arnold Schwarzenegger is at war with all the unions. He’s been on
an absolute attack on our pensions and health programs.
His only concern has been for the contractors and not for
the employees. My concern is whether the money will be
used to promote a living wage and PLA agreements, so that all can benefit.”
