Creating Files for Print Print E-mail

To ensure our low prices without incurring additional file-intervention charges, follow these guidelines and inform us of any problems or questions at the time you drop off your job.

AD LAYOUT

  • Set your document to one of the following dimensions:
    All measurements are displayed Width by Height
    • Full Page - 10" X 13.75"
    • Half Page
      • Regular - 10" X 6.75"
      • Vertical - 4.875" X 13.75"
    • Quarter Page - 4.875" X 6.75"
    • Eighth Page - 4.875" X 3.25"
  • No Bleed

IMAGES

  • Include all linked images along with your page layout file.
  • RGB and Index color images must be converted to Grayscale or CMYK.
  • All placed images must be either PDF, TIFF or EPS formats.
  • [JPEGs and PICTs are not acceptable, please convert to PDF, TIFF or EPS]
  • Do not use LZW compression when saving in TIFF format.
  • Save Photoshop duotones, and images with clipping paths as EPS format.
  • Save Photoshop EPS files with the following options:

eps		 Mac
maceps

  • If you are using spot color: all color names must match exactly across all artwork files and in your page layout document, or they will not print. This includes Illustrator EPSs and Photoshop duotones.

  • If you are using Adobe Illustrator versions 7 or 9, save you files as versions 6 or 8.
    Adobe Illustrator versions 7 and 9 will not output correctly.

Resolution/ink density

  • Grayscale/CMYK:200 pixels per inch at 100% printing size
  • Bitmap: 600 pixels per inch at 100% printing size
  • CMYK max. ink density:250%.
  • CMYK Rich Black: 30% cyan, 20% magenta, 20% yellow, 80% black.
  • (Rich black backgrounds must have keepaways around reverse text)

FONTS

  • Include all fonts used. Put them all in one folder labeled FONTS. If you are using PostScript fonts, you must provide both the printer font file and screen font file for each PostScript font used.

  • Multiple Master fonts are not acceptable.

  • Make sure all fonts for EPS illustrations are included, or create outlines for these fonts.
