Rampart, Suite M Orange, CA 92868 (714) 939-3131 (714) 939-3132 The OCWD Advanced Water Treatment Facility Project is making good progress and is now estimated to be 70% complete. This Facility is part of the Groundwater Replenishment System (GWR) being built in partnership with the Orange County Sanitation District. The GWR System is a water supply project designed to ultimately reuse approximately 140,000 acre-feet per year of advanced treated wastewater (recycled water). This Advanced Water Treatment Facility is the largest of its kind in the World. The electrical portion of the project is the largest single electrical construction project in Orange County’s history. At completion, there will be approximately 800,000 feet of conduit installed, more than four million feet of copper wire installed, and approximately one million feet of fiber optic cable installed. All in all, the electrical installation will encompass approximately 250,000 labor hours – all performed by IBEW Union-trained craftsmen.To our approximately 110 Brothers and Sisters currently working on this project – keep up the excellent work! |
